Sacraments at St. Joan of Arc
Parents are asked to call the Parish Center to make arrangements for Baptism. First time parents are required to attend a meeting on the sacrament of Baptism. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the Parish Center. Please call the Parish Center to register. Baptisms take place at 1:00pm on the first and third Sunday of each month. On the fourth Sunday of each month, baptisms are celebrated within the context of the Mass during the 11:30am Mass.
The sacrament is available every Saturday from 10:30am until 11:15am, and again from 3:00pm until 3:45pm. The Reconciliation Rooms are located at the rear of the church between the exits to the Narthex.
Reception of a sacrament requires adequate knowledge and preparation. Eighth Grade Confirmation preparation must be immediately preceded by three consecutive years of regular attendance in religious instruction.
Couples are asked to call one of the parish priests before setting a date for the wedding or making other commitments. Registration and participation in the parish, by at least one party, for three months is required before a wedding date will be given. The diocese requires a minimum preparation time of six months between the first conference and the wedding.
Anointing of the Sick
Call the Parish Office at any time to let us know if anyone in your family is ill so that the priests might visit them to confer the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. In addition, Anointing of the Sick is also celebrated as a community within the context of the Sunday liturgy at the 11:30am Mass on the Sunday closest to February 11 of each year.
Visits by Pastoral Ministers of Care
Pastoral Ministers of Care are available to bring the Holy Eucharist to hospital patients, residents of health care or assisted living facilities, and to those who are homebound. Please call the Parish Office to make arrangements for a visit. Mass is celebrated regularly at the local Snow Valley, Devonshire, and Westbury care facilities, and the Holy Eucharist is brought to residents of these facilities on a weekly basis.
